    An online community where member organizations can share knowledge, resources, and tools related to HR, Marketing, Accounting, Fundraising, and other areas of mutual interest.

The LEAN Management Bootcamp faithfully follows the simple, step-by-step optimization approach outlined in the "Lean Scale-Up" book

  • The Bootcamp is organized into nine individual online workshops

  • Each workshop focusses on building a critical element in your organization's "Lean Scale-Up" performance management system. To learn more about how the "Lean Scale-Up" system works:

  • Weekly Q&A sessions are offered to help you and your employees complete your homework assignments, (if needed)

  • Further support is provided by your monthly Implementer's Roundtable

  • The Bootcamp is offered four times a year. You and/or your staff can repeat the Bootcamp as often as you like. You can also use the Bootcamp to supplement onboarding new employees, interns, (and Board members)

SESSION ONE
What Do You Want to Achieve?

Introduction and Goal-Setting

Your team will use the Lean Scale-Up  "Wish-List Workbook" to define exactly what your organization wants to achieve by participating in the Accelerator.

 

Your team will also use the Baldrige 2020 Report to identify specific measurable outcomes related to increased customer satisfaction, employee engagement, product/service quality, productivity, strategic and financial results.

SESSION TWO
Success Score Assessment

Create Your Organization's Baseline Measurement

The ManageHub Success Score is a first of a kind, Baldrige-based assessment that helps measure the maturity of six organizational dimensions: Leadership, Strategy, Customer-Focus, Employees, Operations, and Results.

The six individual scores are aggregated into one Success Score that you can use to help predict your organization's chances of long-term success.

 

We will use this first assessment to track your organization's progress.

SESSION THREE
Identify Operational Gaps

Prepare Your Organization's "Business Model Map"

Your team will use the "Business Model Map Worksheet" to perform an insightful department-by-department and key-process gap analysis. They will use the worksheet to gather information related to:
 

  • Who performs what work

  • What systems (if any) automate the process

  • Issues and ideas for improving the process

  • Projects that might optimize the performance of each process

SESSION FOUR
Identify Management Gaps

Complete the "Management Systems Checklist"

Your team will use the Baldrige-based "Management Systems Checklist" to prioritize which of the 34 required management systems needs to be created or improved first. The 34 management systems are organized into 4 performance-management categories:
 

  • Operations Performance Management (8 required systems)

  • Workforce Performance Management (10 required systems)

  • Customer Performance Management (6 required systems)

  • Strategy & Risk Performance Management (10 required systems)

SESSION FIVE

Strategize

Create a Prioritized Improvement Plan

Your team will refer to your completed Wish List Workbook, Business Model Map and Management Systems Checklist to create a prioritized improvement plan. Priorities will be determined by thoughtfully filtering all possible initiatives using a customized set of "Strategic Themes" and specific selection criteria created for your organization. For example, your organization's initiatives might be prioritized to minimize risk, increase quality, pursue innovation and/or improve customer satisfaction and retention.

SESSION SIX
Implement Your Plan

Invite Relevant Employees to Participate

Session six is a milestone in your Lean Scale-Up Bootcamp. It is the week your organization begins to implement its prioritized improvement plan.

Your team will use the Lean Scale-Up "Accountability Meeting Worksheet" to invite relevant employees from across your organization to help manage improvement projects related to the work that they perform. Progress will be reported in weekly accountability meetings to resolve blockers, maintain momentum, and celebrate progress.

SESSION SEVEN
Leadership Development

Engage Your People Using "Facilitated Management"

Your team will learn Lean Scale-up's "Facilitated Management" approach to monitor, support, encourage, report and recognize the progress made by individuals and project teams.

 

"Facilitated Management" is critical to institutionalize a culture of employee-powered continuous improvement.

SESSION EIGHT
Team Building

Conduct Accountability Meetings & Performance Coaching

Your team will learn how to perform two simple but very effective employee-engagement approaches outlined in the Lean Scale-Up book:
 

  • Accountability Meetings

  • One-on-one Performance Coaching

Both approaches are important "Facilitated Management" techniques that identify and mentor high-performing employees.

SESSION NINE
Key Performance Indicators

Prepare Your Organization's KPI Scorecard

Your team will learn how to use the Lean Scale-Up KPI Worksheet to identify and track "key performance indicators" related to six Baldrige-based management areas:
 

  • Leadership

  • Strategy

  • Customer

  • Workforce

  • Operations

  • Financial Results

Monthly Implementer's Roundtable

You (and up to two additional Implementers from your organization) are invited to join a monthly Roundtable where members shares results, discuss blockers, and celebrate successes with their peers.

​​Initially, the objective of the Roundtables is to support each member organization's implementation of the Bootcamp curriculum. These early sessions will be facilitated by a Certified Lean Scale-Up Coach who will answer questions and train participants on how to use the Roundtable's standardized meeting format.

As member organizations make progress, the focus of the Roundtables will shift to become a monthly strategy session. At this time, the Roundtable will offer each member an opportunity to report on their organization's progress and hold each other accountable for achieving their stated objectives.

 

When you and the other participants feel confident and ready, the Certified Lean Scale-Up Coach will help transition the Roundtable to becoming member-managed.

The Roundtables are a wonderful opportunity for you and your team to develop close working relationships with other leaders.

You (and up to two additional Implementers from your organization) are invited to join our online best practices sharing platform where member organizations can share knowledge, ideas, marketing templates, operating procedures,  resources, and tools.

The platform will also be used to archive recordings, tools, and templates shared during skills training events.

The online platform provides you and your team with additional opportunities to meet, network, and collaborate with leaders who share your interest in creating a high-performing organization.
